010 | An Overview of Homeschooling with Elvira DiBrigit

Elvira chose to homeschool when her first child was ready for kindergarten because they lived in a cabin in the woods, an hour drive from any school.  That was back in 1998, and she was completing her Waldorf teacher certification. Since then, She's homeschooled her own three children, and been a teacher to many more. Elvira started a homeschool co-op and completed her California teaching credential in 2010. She describes herself as an eclectic homeschooler; drawing from a variety of educational styles such as Montessori, Classical, and Unschooling. She has a great love for learning, and recently completed a certification in applied positive psychology. Elvira has led workshops and family camps focused on social-emotional intelligence and conscious communication. She is also a homesteader and a farmer’s wife. In 2017 Elvira wrote a book about her farming community. When She isn't working she loves to explore the outdoors and go on walks with her two dogs.
