Shay Eskew was just 8-years-old when a simple act of neighborly kindness led to a horrific accident that caused debilitating burns across 65 percent of his body and loss of mobility in his limbs. Shay survived and, after more than 35 surgeries and years of rehabilitation, went on to accomplish amazing personal and athletic feats that are both humbling and awe-inspiring. Shay has competed in more than 70 triathlons, including 13 World Championships across four continents. He is a four-time Ironman, ranked in the top 1% of 70.3 Ironmen athletes in the world, as well as a National Wrestling Hall of Fame inductee and Medal of Courage recipient. He's an author, speaker, devoted husband and father of five. In today's episode, Shay shares the physical and mental struggles he's had to overcome to become a competitive athlete and champion, as well as a successful business leader and family man.
