012: Q&A – How to motivate children to continue to speak in their heritage language when they prefer the community language?

On this episode of Bilingual Avenue, I answer a listener’s question to help him get his children speaking in their heritage language, Spanish.  Since they entered pre-school and they are getting more exposure in English they engage with him in English. I talk about how to create opportunities where his children will feel the need to communicate in Spanish and also provide some tips and strategies on how to increase exposure to their heritage language.
