012 Sexual Intelligence

In this episode, Roy discusses the issues surrounding making smart sexual choices. No other issue can lead to such pleasure or pain, and so it's a critically important issue to discuss. Roy talks about the three waves of the sexual revolution. The first occurred in the mid sixties when we evolved beyond sexual repression to sexual expression. The second occurred because of STD's and AIDS, causing us to embrace safe sex. And now we're in the middle of the third wave, which is the movement toward smart sex. Roy shares that smart sex is recognizing that sex can be a celebration of either chemistry or commitment—two very different things—and understanding the difference is the key to a happy heart rather than a broken heart.
