014: An 80 Year Old with an Oxygen Tank Beat Me....

from Do Life Big · host Kathi Reuter

Way back in 2009, my husband and I ran the Boston Marathon. This was like a bucket list item for me. I always wanted to run a marathon to prove to myself I could do it! One of my most vivid memories, is around mile 13 / 14 when this older guy who was at least 80 years old, passed me. I was running (really, trudging!) and this guy slowly passes me, and behind him he has this cart with an oxygen tank attached to it and the tube running to his nose. I remember my husband saying, "Kathi, come on! We can't let this guy pass us!" and I just though to myself ... well pssscccchh.. he has oxygen! Of course he has an advantage! 🤣That day has a lot of memories, but the reason I bring this story up is actually about the power of visualization, which got me to that point to begin with!In this week's podcast, I talk about how I completed that race, which is way out of my comfort zone., including how visualization helped me get through the mental struggles of running a marathon! It doesn't matter if YOU want to run a marathon or not - the power of visualization is something you can use to help you with any goal that you have. Maybe a marathon, but also a business goal, family goal, relationship goal, or financial goal!  ⭐ Hey there! Thanks for listening! ⭐  If this episode inspired you in some way, take a screenshot of you listening on your device and post it to your Instagram Stories, and tag me @katherinereuter!
