015 - 4th of July - Was the American Revolution Biblical?

In Galatians, Chapter 5, verse 1, Paul states, “It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.” But Paul also states in Romans, chapter 13, verse 1: Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.” Do these two scriptures contradict each other? If not, how can they both be true? Based on these scriptures alone, was America’s revolution for independence biblical?
