015: How to Create with a Busy Life | Chidimma Jones-Mubima

from Reframe to Create · host Joy Spencer | Guest - Chidimma Jones-Mubima

How can you create anything when your life is overflowing with family and life obligations?  This is the question my guest Chidimma Jones-Mubima kept asking and which led me to stage a creating intervention.  I've known Chidi for years and she's a professional, just like you, with a deep desire to create in the midst of a life that can feel overwhelming in its constant demands.   In this episode, we take on this challenge as I coach her through the necessary steps to establish her own creative hygiene practice.   Listen in for some of these key takeaways:  There is no perfect time to create so you might as well create now Routines may or may not help you Consistency rather than perfection Focus on building the identity before you focus on results  Get it in where you can get it  When all else fails just stop, drop, and create My guest: Chidimma Jones-Mubima has over 19 years of progressive experience in higher education, and last year, made a career pivot to Learning and Development.  Currently, she is a Training Specialist at Heartland Alliance in Chicago, where she develops staff through strategic, meaningful and relevant learning opportunities.  Chidimma is currently pursuing an MBA in Global Supply Management and Entrepreneurship from DeVry University.  She has a Master's in International Educational Development from Teachers College, Columbia University and a Master's in Intercultural Communication from the University of Pennsylvania. Her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia is in French Language and Literature, with a minor in Spanish.   Chidimma was born in Sierra Leone, spent four years of her childhood in Côte d'Ivoire, before moving to the United States as a teenager. She currently resides in the Chicagoland area with her husband and their two children. In her free time, she reads, writes, designs, travels, and spends time with her family.
