One thing we really need to know when planning any kind of production schedule is - how long will it take us to write the next book?

If you've written and finished one or more books, you can probably figure out a good estimate on how long the next one will take. If you haven't finished a book yet or you're like me and trying something new (I'm going to try to dictate - technically, transcribe - my first drafts this year), then you'll have to use some guesstimating as well.

If you haven't read it, try Rachel Aaron's 2K to 10K book on how to get your brain to compose your story faster. I love this book!

If you're interesting in learning more about dictating your writing, check out Scott Baker's books on the topic as well as his online course. Fool Proof Dictation by Christopher Downing is also super helpful.

In this episode, I explain how to break down your book into chunks in such a way that you can estimate how long it will take you to start and finish your book.

Now, Grahame leads introductory and day long courses in Sydney and regularly teaches longer intensive retreats in the US. Grahame has been leading and co-teaching retreats with Sayadw U Lakkhana, Steven Smith and Michele McDonald, as well as helping to guide the Hawai’i sangha in its ongoing practice. He has also helped pioneer a workshop format that enhances the transfer of mindfulness from the formal sitting practice into daily life. Grahame returns to Myanmar (Burma) each year in order to deepen his practice and study of the Buddha’s teachings and at times assist in the teaching of Vipassana ret Write Here, Write Now Podcast Karen Sanders Editing The Write Here, Write Now podcast is hosted by Karen Sanders, Clare Dugmore, and Paula Grabow. On stage since I was 8 years old with my family, writing songs since I was 13 (We Must Let Go) and continuing to do so today. That's me (second from right) in the cover photo on my profile page. I have a lot of fantastic memories and have made a lot of lifelong friends because of music. I love the fact that I've been blessed with the ability to sing and write and now to be able to record it and showcase it here. I'm in Paso Robles , CA - and I am searching for a band to jam with and do some club dates. If you're interested or know of someone that's looking for a singer, hit me up. Almost all the songs on this site were written by me, me and my brother, or me and whoever is listed. The cover songs are clearly credited accordingly. I hope you enjoy my stuff. Thanks for checking me out!
