02. What Adoptive Parents Need to Know with Ce Eschelman
from The Indomitable Podcast · host Di Ciruolo
Di discusses options to transform the system and what adoptive parents need to know with Ce Eshelman. About Ce Eshelman Ce Eshelman LMFT Is Marriage and Family Therapist for nearly 40 years. She opened The Attach Place Center for Strengthening Relationships, LLC, after years of struggling to find help with the attachment challenges and complex trauma of her two children she brought home from the foster care system 24+ years ago. Happily, they are all grown up now living independent lives of their own. It has become her life's mission to support adoptive parents to heal the wounded hearts of their children while thriving at the same time. Over the years of studying with most of the great attachment and trauma thinkers of our time--Siegel, Hughes, van der Kolk, Ogden, Levine, Fisher, Porges, and many more--she has grown her understanding and deep practice of "being with" those who are healing from the every day painful events of life, as well as the extra-ordinary traumas that can derail relationships from the beginning of life. She believe this in her bones: Love Matters. She created the Love Matters Parenting Society online community for adoptive parents just before the pandemic hit, and it was right on time. Adoptive parents now get a deep dive into therapeutic parenting strategies, an exploration into their own childhood experiences and adversities, and access to the best thinkers of our times on how trauma impacts the neuro-psychological development of children. All that with a great community of parents to grow with and get supported by. Finally, her Unmuted Love Podcast is live for anyone who wants to take a fresh look at parenting children from difficult beginnings from the inside of healing and out.
