In this episode of The Bottom Line on KCLR we talk about the careers that are on offer in Kilkenny City and County with the unique jobs fair #careerskilkenny. Kilkenny County Council, through its Local Enterprise Office, is staging a unique careers event showcasing the hundreds of jobs on offer in leading companies located across the city and county in Kilkenny’s Medieval Mile Museum on December 28th next. The event was officially launched during the week and Eimear Ni Bhraonáin went along to talk to some of the people behind the event as well as some of the companies taking part. To find out more about #careerskilkenny visit www.careerskilkenny.ie Family businesses are a huge building block of Irish life and the economy and it is fitting that the Kilkenny Chamber Awards recognised this with an awards category focused on Kilkenny’s finest family businesses. This year the nominees were Quinn and Sons Tyres and Auto; Gittens Murray Architects and Johnson Funeral Directors. Earlier this week John spoke with Sammy Johnston of Johnston Funeral Directors who won the Family Business of the Year award, about his families business and what the award means to them. Lily Holmes MD of PB Machine Tech Ltd. in Carlow came into studio this week to speak with John about the history behind the company and her path to becoming MD of PB Machine Tech.
