020: True Horror

from Pleasing Terrors

The Salisbury Plain is the name for the 300 miles of grasslands located in Wiltshire, England. Home to Stonehenge, a rich history, and a wide variety of plants and animals, the Salisbury Plain is one of the most famous locations in England. For the residents of Wiltshire, however, the area is notorious for more than its archaeological features and mystical energy. The great grassy plains of Salisbury border the mansions of Wiltshire, whose walls are painted in blood and sorrow.  In these great houses, the dead refuse to rest. Episode Highlights: The Monuments of Wiltshire County The beautiful maiden in Avebury Manor and the Grey Lady: Ghosts searching for lost loves Midwife of death Spiders, cats, and the Spanish Lady Goody Orchard's curse The legend of the Salisbury hare Murder in the Road Hill House Resources: Haunted Wiltshire by Sonia Smith   @2PodsADay    If you are looking for podcasts that are similar to Pleasing Terrors, check out: The Strange and Unusual Podcast The Not Alone Podcast Quid Pro Quo Podcast, episode 10 "Double Trouble"   Enjoyed this episode? Me and AU Procyon Podcast Network When Kate “ACunningPlan” Cunningham sparks up an online friendship with a fellow fanfiction writer it seems like the perfect distraction from a summer stuck in her hometown of Kamloops, B.C., not to mention the coming terrors of her final year of university and the Real Adult Future beyond. (Seriously, please don’t mention them.) After all, Hella--Enchanted is funny, smart and writes canon-divergent werewolf fic like no one else. She’s everything a fandom could ask for.But... what if she’s everything Kate could ask for, too? The Monster Hunters Definitely Human Take a trip back to swinging London in the early 1970s and meet Roy Steel, ex-big game hunter, and Lorrimer Chesterfield, a brain in the shape of a man. Together they are The Monster Hunters. Their mission: to protect the country from vampires, werewolves and a whole pantheon of unmentionable terrors! Taking its cue from the classic period of British horror and adventure, the 1960s and 70s, The Monster Hunters is a comedy adventure series written by and starring Peter Davis and Matthew Woodcock. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information. Finding Raffi iHeartPodcasts and Fatherly Raffi Cavoukian is a magical musician. His songs, like “Baby Beluga” and “Down by the Bay,” have wordplay and rhyme schemes that are as crowd-pleasing as they come — sweet, silly sing-alongs for kids and adults alike. But his work is anything but simple. Much like the folk singers who inspired him, a radical philosophy underscores all that he does. In "Finding Raffi,” comedian, writer, and podcaster Chris Garcia takes us on a journey through a 10-part series tracing Raffi’s life from aspiring folk singer to international kids’ superstar to outspoken activist for climate action and a child-centric world. Produced in partnership with Rococo Punch.
