022 - The Lack of Routines in Home Creation

from Modern Homemaking I Mindset and Methods for Happier, Healthier Homes

Today, I talk about routines in home creation. This is the fourth episode in a multi-part series talking about the different things that can contribute to overwhelm in our homes and with our home creation. In this episode, we look at how a lack of routines might be keeping us stuck in overwhelm, and how developing intentional routines in our homes connects to our values and our desires. I share the advantages to having routines and how we can start to create routines in our homes. Here’s a recap: The idea of a structured home plan and routines can sometimes sound overwhelming, However, it might be the lack of routines and unpredictability in your days that is keeping you stuck in overwhelm. Home plans and routines help us intentional in our actions in our home, and they can save us time and energy. The goal is to have routines in place, so that we can actually enjoy our home, our days, and our life. Allowing us to have time and space to focus on that which is most important to us (whatever that might be for you). Home Plans and Routines have many advantages: they keep us intentional and proactive, over reactive, they take away the guesswork out of household tasks, they help you create a balance between home, work and people, they allow us to get more done in the time that we have, thus save us time, and they can help us help us change our perspective, really acknowledge what we are accomplishing in our homes, see purpose in our days and give us a focus when we are feeling overwhelmed with little ones at home. Three things to consider before we start making a plan and routines are to Start Small, Grow Slowly and You Do You. The Holistic Home Plans and Routines is such a great as a guide or starting point for you to adjust and personalize. It is a home system that I designed it to balance key household tasks and home management activities, while also prioritizing our well-being in home creation. We dive deeper into these in the Third Foundation of Home – Plans & Routines. Working together might be the support you need in developing your own plans and routines for more success, fulfillment and joy in your home and with your home creation. Please reach out if you would like to talk about the possibility of working together in creating a happier and healthier home with more success, fulfillment and joy.   Get you copy of the Holistic Home Routine Snapshot HERE.
