023. How to Trust Yourself Around Food

from Embody Food Freedom · host Jenn Baswick

Rebuilding trust is absolutely a foundation for having a healthy, peaceful relationship with food and overcoming binge eating, overeating, and emotional eating. It’s pretty hard to have food freedom if we don’t have trust. Dieting erodes your self-trust around food. All the ‘shoulds’ about how, when, and what we should be eating teaches us to not trust ourselves around food and detaches us from our body’s inner wisdom. So let’s change that and learn how to trust yourself around food. In this episode, we’ll chat about how to trust your body, trust yourself to make aligned food decisions, trust yourself around sweets and fun foods, and how to foster trust in your ability to actually HAVE food freedom. In this episode we cover: Why we feel like we can’t trust ourselves around food The 3 main things that make us feel out of control around food What trusting yourself around food is and is not 2 tips on how you can start to build trust around food for yourself It’s time to take your power back, instead of food holding power over you.
