In this episode, we have the pleasure of introducing Ms. Gulshan Kaur Rai and Mr. Mandeep Singh Sidhu, the dynamic founders of Veg-Hub, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Veg-Hub is more than just an online delivery app; it's a one-stop destination for all things vegan and vegetarian, including food, clothing, and personal care items. Launched in 2021 after Ms. Rai left her corporate job, the app fills a crucial gap in the vegetarian/vegan food delivery sector, particularly in the bustling capital city of Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding areas. During the lockdown, Ms. Rai recognized the need for a platform dedicated to plant-based living and took the leap to bring Veg-Hub to life. With over 150 vendors and 5000 users, the app quickly gained traction, catering to the growing demand for plant-based options in Malaysia. But Ms. Rai and Mr. Sidhu didn't stop there. They wanted to further spread awareness about the plant-based lifestyle to the public. Thus, they turned their vision into reality with the inception of Malaysia VegFest in September 2022. This groundbreaking event marked the first-ever plant-based festival in Malaysia, attracting thousands of visitors and over 200 vendors. With three successful editions of VegFest under their belt, Ms. Rai and Mr. Sidhu have become trailblazers in the plant-based movement, hosting events that inspire and educate people about the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle.
