028 - SOMETHING WILD (1986)
from The Criterion Connection Hosted by Ian & McKenzie
Welcome to The Criterion Connection, a podcast about The Criterion Collection. On this episode, Ian (they/them) & McKenzie (she/her) begin what may be their most fun double bill to date, starting with Jonathan Demme's oddball cult classic: SOMETHING WILD (1986). We discuss tropical storm RAY LIOTTA's performance as well as the electric chemistry between JEFF DANIELS & MELANIE GRIFFITH. We also discuss the filmmaker and what makes him unique. Other topics include: Ian saw some middling films and McKenzie checked out more than she thought including a Demme made-for-TV movie. ---- Chapters (00:00:00) Intro (00:04:15) What We've Been Watching (00:19:46) Criterion Additions (00:25:14) SOMETHING WILD (01:14:25) Final Thoughts (01:21:20) Next Week ---- Links Ian on Letterboxd Mckenzie on Letterboxd, on Austin Danger Podcast, on Lynch, on Wisteria Gays The Criterion Connection on Instagram Send us your emails & voicemails to have them read/played on the show - [email protected] ---- THE CRITERION CONNECTION is edited & mixed by Ian
