#029 The Artist Swoon

from Creating Behavior with Charlie Sandlan · host Charlie Sandlan

This week Charlie shares his conversation with Caledonia Curry, known throughout the world as the artist Swoon.  Back in the early 2000"s she broke into a male-dominated art form, and established a reputation as one of the most recognized street artists working.  Her art has been featured at major museums from MoMA, to the Tate Modern, to the São Paulo Museum of Art.  Her deeply autobiographical art touches on fairy-tale, myth, the sacred feminine, and the repercussion's of family trauma. She is an artist who courageously taps into her primitive unconscious to illuminate the human condition. Charlie and Swoon talk about how healing childhood trauma has reframed her artistic path, her newest installation Seven Contemplations, and how she is tackling her latest creative chapter, stop-motion animation. You can follow CBP on Instagram @creatingbehavior, and Charlie's NYC acting conservatory, the Maggie Flanigan Studio @maggieflaniganstudio. Theme music by  https://www.thelawrencetrailer.com.
