The narrative unfolds the stories of two prominent civilizations one that journeyed from Jerusalem in 600 B.C., splitting into the Nephites and the Lamanites, and another originating even earlier, known as the Jaredites, who emerged after the Tower of Babels confusion of languages. Over millennia, these civilizations faced destruction, leaving only the Lamanites, who are considered among the ancestors of Native Americans. A pivotal event in the Book of Mormon is the personal ministry of Jesus Christ among the Nephites shortly after His resurrection.
