030: My Parents Have Dementia, and We're Scrambling to Fill in the Blanks - Mike + Caroline Neubauer

This is the episode we didn’t know we’d have to record.Recently, both of Caroline’s parents were diagnosed with dementia. Since then, we’ve been navigating emotional breakdowns, logistical chaos, and legal decisions, all while trying to piece together a plan from another country.The last few weeks we spent in Vancouver, BC trying to figure out a new health care system, learn the lingo of complex care and try to navigate a tricky and outdated system to move both of her parents into a care facility. It hasn't been easy and it's not over yet. The twists and turns keep coming, but this is a culmination of the last few weeks we've spent in Canada. In this conversation, we talk about what no one prepared us for.
