#030 – Ventura Justice March (June 7, 2020)

from The Recluse Podcast · host Allen Orrante

On June 7, 2020, protestors rallied at the Ventura Government Center. After chanting and protesting there, the crowd took to the streets and marched down Victoria Avenue, crossing the bridge and back. A large portion of the crowd marched to Thille Park. A sermon was given there and a few speeches. There was dancing and drumming by an indigenous political dance group, which included two speeches given by their members. There was an art auction and food vendors present. There were news helicopters flying around. The Ventura Police Department estimated 1,600 people turned out throughout the entire day.  This audio does not represent all the speaking and activity that took place; it is only what was captured. The names of the speakers are not known.
