Yes, I know what you think of me, you never shut up. Never shut up, never shut up, never shut up. It's just your ghost passing through. Welcome to Never Shut Up.
I'm your host and your ghost Rose Crest, and today is March 25th, 2026, and we are talking about putting the damage on. Tori talks about this song as being an invitation to learn graciousness while we unlearn the victimhood. Graciousness is like, well, other people suffer, you know, when there's conflict, when there's breakup, when there's an argument, when a relationship falls apart, be it a friendship, or, you know, the other kind of relationship, all of us hurt in those moments, and of course, some of us deal with it in other ways, with some people might lash out, some people might retreat, but we need to have some graciousness for ourselves and some graciousness for others. And then the unlearning victimhood, well, she says in the song, take it high, where we rise above it doesn't mean it's don't.
I mean, if you have to, go for it. But just so she's talking about, she's talking about take it high. Look at the whole picture of things, not just the one specific thing, but as we say, and yoga, expand your awareness to see both at the same time, and you will realize in attempting to see both at the same time, that there is so much more at play here. We are so much more than our relationships, so much more than the right and wrong.
We are this whole experience that defies words and defies explanation. The first rule of expanded awareness is that you really can't talk about expanded awareness. You have to be in the experience. So one really lovely practice to help us rise above to take on seeing everything all at once is the eagle's eyes and eagle, whether or not you know this, but an eagle can see things near and far in equal focus.
So their focus is total, 100%. Everything is all in focus, whereas we have to move our eyes to focus. So we're going to use eagle arms, and then we'll do chair legs. So coming to standing, obviously, don't do this if you're driving, and you're going to take a big breath in, stretch your arms out, wide to the sides, and then with your exhale, you're going to bring your arms in front with an X crossing at the elbows so that your left elbow is on top, your right elbow is on the bottom, and then bend the elbows, and you'll put your left hand on top of your right shoulder and your right hand underneath the left arm, like kind of in your left armpit.
And then if you open and close your elbows, you've got a beak in place. Now we could stay here, and this is more than enough. This is a really nice opening. We do want to take an exhale and draw the shoulders down the back as though you are trying to open your chest.
You can release your arms and bring the backs of your forearms to touch, wrapping your right hand around your left arm, and maybe even bringing the palms to touch. That's really quite challenging. So the bird beak is a plenty enough. And then we inhale here, and with the exhale, we're going to reach back through the hips, bending at the knees into a chair pose, like you're about to sit down in a chair.
You want your hips back and your knees back a little bit, let your toes fly up, and we breathe here. Like we are an eagle perched on an oak tree or a pine tree. They like oak trees. How do I know?
Because I see bald eagles all the time, not been Oregon. I love it. I love looking at those bald eagles. They're so amazing.
So take in that bigger perspective, the higher perspective you've risen above to see the whole picture. You do with that whole picture? Well, that's totally up to you. But taking a moment to take it high, take it high, and look at things from a bigger perspective.
When you're ready to release, take a big breath in, and then exhale, fly your arms open, and then you'll cross your arms again this time, right arm on top, left arm on the bottom, and rewind to follow the directions. Thank you so much for joining me and Tori for Little Mental Yoga Today. Remember, five minutes a day, so much more impactful than 60 minutes once a week. See you tomorrow.
Bye. So I had some requests in Europe for this song, and I wasn't able to work it in. So do it in New York. So yeah.
