034: Tamar's Trial

Two of Judah's sons, Er and Onan, die while married to Tamar. Judah doesn't give Tamar his youngest son, Shelah, to her as a husband, as required by law. Desperate to avoid the stigma of being a childless widow, she disguises herself as a harlot and is impregnated by Judah. When she is found to be with a child, she is condemned to be burned at the stake. Can she save herself? Join Father Fred and Geoge as they explore this story of moral complexity in Genesis chapter 38. Father Fred and George also explore if birth control is condemned by the Catholic Church.
