In this week's episode I discuss the ascendant and descendant, also known as the relationship axis. The ascendant is directly opposite the Descendant and the connecting line between these two points marks the horizon where we see the Sun rise in the East and set in the West. This is why the ascendant is also known as the rising sign. The Ascendant is one third of the "Big Three" (the Sun and Moon making up the other two thirds) making it a pretty big deal in astrology. It says a lot about who we are and how we approach the world, revealing various aspects of our personality, outlook, appearance, birth and early life, and how we appear to and interact with others.
