Perhaps you are a newbie to art and have never put on a show before or perhaps you’ve had a break from your artmaking and you’re ready to get out there again. No matter where you are on your journey, art exhibitions are a great idea for a range of reasons.   This fortnight, Laura and Ros chat about the benefits of getting out there and showing your work via an art exhibition, either solo or group. From signalling to the world that you are serious about your art, giving you something meaningful to work towards and a reason to create a cohesive body of work, there are more benefits to putting on an art show than simply sales.   Laura talks about her upcoming solo art show at the Kilderkin Distillery in Ballarat and shares that the purpose of the show is multifaceted. Acting as a mutual marketing exercise, the show will promote her abstract art workshops which are part of a Visit Ballarat initiative and also bring a new audience to the distillery. It is a collaboration. And art sales are a bonus.   Ros points out that art sales are in fact an external gauge of success.
