"This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him, there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin." - from 1 John 1:1-2:2 When you think of Holiness, what do you think of? A remarkable person, perhaps? Who wakes up and says their prayers. A person who is committed, and devout, who fasts and who prays, who has an incredible commitment to meditating on the scriptures, someone who is seemingly impervious to temptations of ordinary people. Maybe you imagine a solitary monk or nun in the wilderness, away from human contact, the world, and all temptation. This idea of holiness is that holiness is separate, alone, and distinct. ...
