Meet Kevin K. Nguyen!We celebrate Kevin's achievements in attaining his degrees in pursuit of his doctorate degree in higher education and student affairs. We support his work in supporting the students of Whittier College and beyond with particular focus on first generation students and those who come from lower income backgrounds. We are inspired by his pursuit of both knowledge and service, as he works to create and lead by example a body of leaders in higher education that truly reflects the rich diversity of our campuses. //Kevin Nguyen is a Student Data Specialist at Whittier College for Registrars Office. Kevin is also a Ph.D. Higher Education student in the School of Educational Studies at Claremont Graduate University (CGU). He earned his M.S in Counseling with an emphasis in Student Development in Higher Education from the California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) and his B.A. in Communication Studies from Cal State University, Long Beach. Prior to his return to pursuing his doctoral studies, Kevin worked at UC Irvine as an Undergraduate Counselor for Information & Computer Sciences, where he advised and supported students from marginalized communities as they transitioned from high school/community college and into a university setting. Prior to working at UC Irvine, Kevin has worked over five community colleges (OCC, GWC, Coastline, Cypress, & Santa Ana College) within various facets in Student Services. His research interests focus on Equity and diversity issues in higher education, Talent/Leadership Development, Asian American professional/student population, community college, and Minority Leadership in higher education.
