041 - Harriet | ICSI, hyperemisis gravidarum, homebirth, physiological birth, gas and air, waterbirth

from Birth Tales

In today's episode we're hearing from Harriet about her experience of conceiving via ICSI, struggling with hyperemesis gravidarum during her pregnancy and how her work as a midwife informed her decision to birth her daughter at home. Having witnessed numerous physiological births prior to her own, she felt confident in her body's ability to birth her baby and devoted her time to preparing herself holistically and spiritually. Juno was born in the water in the living room and Harriet admits that the greatest challenge was switching off her medical brain and tuning in to her intuition during the process. She reflects on what it was like to give birth herself having supported so many others through this transition over the years and shares her advice for anyone considering a homebirth in the future.   Harriet's IG: https://www.instagram.com/harrietbirtwistle/  My website: www.serenalouth.com My IG: https://www.instagram.com/serenalouth/
