#041 - What I Wish I Knew as a Young Attorney

from Be a Better Lawyer with Dina Cataldo

Even if you're not a lawyer, or new in your profession, you'll want to tune in because this episode is relevant for anyone at any stage of their career. These are things that we may not pay attention to because we've been on autopilot for so long.    This topic is linked with stress. Stress is as the heart of a lot of the underperformance issues we see. A lot of us believe that we work well under pressure, but really it's a habit that we've created. We have to undo this habit in order to perform better.    Science tells us stress is bad for our body, but it also tells us it's bad for our mind. We've learned that increased stress actually negatively impacts our ability to focus on the task at hand. It interferes with our sleep, and it makes us irritable to the point where our relationships may suffer.    Today I'm focussing on the beliefs that I wish I had when I was a young attorney. These are things that I wish I understood, and now that I do, I can take on even more assignments and manage my relationships better.    I want to remind you about the free online masterclass for lawyers I'm doing right now. It actually is right on point with today's podcast. If you want to dive deeper into better ways to manage stress while being productive, then I encourage you to sign up for this free masterclass while it's available.    It's called "5 Secrets to Finding Ease and Creating Boundaries While Making Your Billable Hours."   I'm going to show you how you can make the ultimate shift from feeling stretched too thin, stressed and overwhelmed, to finding ease and intentionally designing the life you want without sacrificing your work product.   This is only going to be happening for a limited time, so be sure to secure your spot today.   You can register at dinacataldo.com/masterclass
