Yes, I know what you think of me. You never shut up, never shut up, never shut up, never shut up, never shut up. Two girls, 65, got a piece tied up in the back seat. Do you think they're recovering Christians?
Welcome to Never Shut Up. I'm your host, Rose Crest. It is the weekend, woohoo, as if you didn't already know that. And our song for the weekend is in the springtime of his voodoo.
Oh yes, might be my favorite song from Pele. It definitely was my doorway into Pele. This song, well, you know, this is about somebody else carrying the voodoo, as Tori says, instead of becoming part of the voodoo and accessing it for yourself. I always thought this was a reference to Jimi Hendrix, which is one of the reasons I loved it so much and still love it so much because I'm a Jimi Hendrix girl.
But in any case, how do we give up our right, our birthright, to accessing our own voodoo, our own sexual energy? Because honestly, there's no way she's not talking about our sexuality when it comes to voodoo, that we're living vicariously through somebody else sexually, that we need somebody else to access our sexuality. It happens. Honey, we're giving that power up left and right in this world, and it's time to take it back.
As an aside, we use this deck in our women's circles. It's called the Pleasure Deck. Nowadays it's kind of aimed at women, but it's just a deck of beautifully painted, like abstract pussies, not actual pussies. And you know, like you draw a card and it gives you a little practice to access your pussy a little bit more.
Are there ones for men? Maybe. I don't know. There should be a pleasure deck of dicks.
If there is, I've never seen it. Anyway, and why would I? Because I don't have a penis, but equal opportunity for our parts. So accessing our own sexual energy, which is the accessing, the invitation to explore the second chakra region, which is not just about creation.
It's about procreation. It's about healthy sexuality. When we're feeling comfortable and safe in our world, when we're feeling safe in our body, safely embodied is the term, then we can start to explore our sexuality in a healthy way. We're not using our sexuality as a means of feeling embodied or feeling safe in the world, which is which so many of us fall into that category.
So Tori says it in the song, swiveling the hips doesn't do a thing, but you know what? That's where we're going to start is swiveling our hips to find our fluidity. You do the standing. You can do this seated.
You could do this in a chair. It might be kind of challenging to do it while you're driving, but whatever. More power to you. So sitting, standing.
If you're sitting, take a light cross in your ankles and we're just going to start circling the spine in the bowl of the pelvis. As you're circling here, let your circles get a little bit bigger and we're going in the same direction, experiencing all of the sides of your circle, which might feel like an oval, accessing the fluid dimension of the second chakra. We start to further lubricate our hip joints, waking up that synovial fluid. Keep circling.
You can get even bigger. And the goal here is to circle, to swivel, just the hips. So in a seated position, we're circling the spine in the bowl of the pelvis. In a standing position, we're circling the hips a la Shakira.
I know this is a Tori in this podcast, but you know, we got to work with what we know. And then pause and we'll circle the other direction. Big, juicy hip circle, waking things up. If you're someone who struggles with low back pain, hip pain, doing this every morning is so beautiful for your hips.
It'll help you open things up. It'll help you release, give you more mobility. Keep circling, same direction. Couple more breaths here, deep breaths in and out.
And then without rushing things, when you feel even, you'll slowly come back to center and pause for a moment in your stillness, noticing how there's still that energetic circling happening. Come back to this often. This is such a good one. And with that, thank you for joining me and Tori for a little mental yoga today.
Remember, five minutes a day is so much better than 60 minutes or once a week. See you Monday. Bye. Bye.
