Yes, I know what you think of me. Never shut up. Never shut up. Never shut up.
It's your choice babe. Just remember, welcome to Never Shut Up. I'm your host Rose Kress. Today is April 14th, 2026 and we are talking about me and a gun.
So it's your choice. What is Tori talking about? It's about choosing to stay alive. We're not talking about during what happens.
We're talking about the aftermath of what happens. The aftermath of trauma, whatever the trauma is. You know, we've been victims. We've all been victims before.
We've all been traumatized before. And Tori here, this song is really an invitation about fusing to be a victim of your own guilt. And it's so interesting, Tori's writing this because she's choosing this, but she's writing herself into her future. Because Tori's not here at this level yet.
When she's writing this, she's still going through it. She's still struggling with it. And so she's speaking to herself in the future. The music muses are really speaking through her and she's speaking to us.
It's about choosing to stay alive after the shit has gone down. And more importantly, reconnecting with your body after trauma. Now this is such an important thing. Many of us are living from, well, the neck up because our bodies betrayed us.
There was a moment in time where we were a victim of something, anything. And our bodies did what they needed to do to stay alive, to go through the process. Maybe they didn't fight back. Maybe we froze.
Maybe our bodies, I mean, it's very common to, you know, the body to have a pleasurable response to things that are physically pleasurable even when we hate the act that is happening, when we hate the person with whom we're doing the act. It's very natural thing because our bodies respond in the moment. Our nervous system does what our nervous system needs to do to keep us alive. And sometimes that action feels like a betrayal.
So this is about claiming yourself as a warrior. You're here. You're still here. You may have been silent all these years, but you are still here right now.
And it's time to reclaim yourself, to stand in your own skin as a warrior because you have been a warrior if you are standing here or sitting here or lying here wherever you are. You are here right now as a warrior reclaiming yourself, taking up space and own it. Honey, it is time to own your space. You don't need to be a victim of your own guilt.
You don't need to guilt yourself anymore. Reclaim yourself as the warrior. Now we could do warrior pose. We've already done warrior pose.
So let's do a different pose that reclaims, helps us to reclaim ourselves as strength. And oh, this one's a doozy. It's a plank pose. So for plank pose, I'm going to lead it as though we're on the floor, but you know what?
You can do this from a countertop. You don't need to come all the way down onto the floor, especially if you are struggling with your strength, your physical strength. So if you're coming to the floor with me, we're going to bring ourselves into a table position so that our hands are underneath our shoulders. You can bring them slightly in front and slightly wider apart than you think your shoulders are.
You can spread your fingers wide so that the hands are strong. Inhaling here. And then with the exhale, begin to lengthen your legs back behind your toes, curling under. Now, a little trick here.
Take your feet wider apart than your shoulders. If you need to at any point, drop your knees to the floor so your feet should be further back than a table position. And you want your spine to be long. Now this is reclaiming our strength.
Stop dropping your head in plank pose. Lift the back of your head up, not looking forward, not chin forward, but lifting the back of the head so that you're strong through the back of your neck. Your shoulder blades are moving down your back. Feel your abs reclaiming their strength as they engage to solidify their strength and support of your body.
And then when you're ready, release your knees down, come to standing. The standing version of yourself that is strong like the warrior ready to move forward. And with that, I thank you for joining me and Tori for Little Mental Yoga today. Remember, five minutes a day is so much better than 60 minutes once a week.
Bye! Yes, I will. A slinky resign doesn't mean I should spread for you. Me, oh my God.
She will be dear to truth. Just remember three days time, who choose. Isn't my life to be on my stomach? A friend so...
