042 - Clementine | physiological birth, labour ward, hypnobirthing, waterbirth, lactation consultant, breastfeeding

In this episode Clementine shares her experience of birthing her son Wilf. Having always known she wanted to be a mother and growing up hearing her own mum talk very positively about birth, she was super excited to find out she was pregnant. During her pregnancy she did lots of birth prep; reading books, taking antenatal classes, joining a hypnobirthing course and seeing a local physiotherapist. Clementine laboured at home for a while before going in to the hospital where she was disappointed to find the midwife lead unit was closed. Luckily there was one available room in the labour ward that had a birth pool and the midwives were really supportive of her preferences, so despite the unexpected change in location she was able to have the waterbirth she had hoped for.
