Yes, I know what you think of me. You never shut up, never shut up, never shut up, never shut up, never shut up, never shut up. Segregate the mind from body from soul. We're finally on our own.
Welcome to Never Shut Up. I'm your host, Rose Cress. It is the weekend, April 25th and 26th of 2026, and we are talking about Pancake and Ohio. Talking about embodying the energy of mmm.
So Pancake and really Ohio, both songs are about seeing through the lies. That line of I can look your God right in the eye, with my third eye open to the truth of reality, I'm able to see you as you are and see through the lies of greed, through the lies of attachment, and see through to the soul of who you are. Now, in yoga, as we see through the facade, the ego facade, the false self, we then become aware of the transcendental self. We see ourselves reflected back in the people around us.
And it's quite a way to experience life, to see the people around you as though they are also enlightened beings. I had one teacher say many years ago that, what if you imagine that everybody here is enlightened and you are the only one that is not, and thus everyone here is to support you on your journey towards enlightenment? It's quite a thought. And when our ego personality, our constrictive personality sense of self is awake, well, I'm like, what kind of bullshit is that?
And then, you know, when I'm doing my practice first thing in the morning, or I'm reading texts and such, then I'm like, oh yeah, absolutely, that's the case. When I'm teaching, I'm like, oh yeah, these students, they're here to enlighten me, wake me up. And then when I'm embroiled in bullshit, I'm just like, that's bullshit. You're an asshole in judgment, judgment, judgment.
And this is life, right? The back and forth, the back and forth, the back and forth. So the practice then that embodies this energy of pancake, of seeing through things to the ultimate reality, is Shambhavi Mudra. Shambhavi Mudra is done with the eyes.
So you're going to take your eyes and you roll them up to gaze at the third eye center. So as you're looking up, your lids might close over the eyes or not. These eyes roll up to this third eye center where all the elements come together, where all of the chakras come together and meet. And the third eye is not a horizontal eye like your other two eyes, instead it is a vertical eye.
And the god Shiva has this eye and it is said that when Shiva opens this eye, all who fall under its gaze, well, only destruction falls under that gaze. And the destruction here is the burning away of the veil of avidya, the veil of apparent reality, which is that this belief that we are separate, that we are not connected, that what you do to one person remains isolated to that one person. And that veil is burned away and we understand that what we do to one person, we do to ourselves. What we do to our planet, we do to ourselves.
And that if we look upon our lives with this awakened third eye awareness, which Shambhavi Mudra brings, that we understand what we do to our Mother Earth, we are in turn doing to ourselves. That the kindnesses that we give out are the kindnesses that we give to ourselves. This is the sweet practice of yoga. And even though this world can be full of fresh new horrors every day, this world can also be filled with such sweet, beautiful, awe-inspired moments.
And it's between these two poles, these dualities, that our life is flowing. And the yogi understands and lives from the knowledge that they are so much more than these opposites. And with that, I thank you for joining me and Tori for a little mental yoga. Remember, five minutes a day is so much better than 60 minutes once a week.
I'll see you Monday. Bye. Bye. Bye.
Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye.
