Yes, I know what you think of me. You never shut up, never shut up, never shut up, never shut up, never shut up. And here I stand with this sword in my hand. Welcome to Never Shut Up.
I'm your host, Rose Crest. Today is April 27th, 2026, and we are practicing with Take to the Sky today. How many of you out there got to go to a listening party and how wonderful is the new album? I'm really excited to listen to it again and again and again and again.
So yeah, have a seat while I take to the sky because I am high on Tori today. Beautiful, beautiful music. Anyway, so Take to the Sky is the first song written after Why Can't Fails, which ultimately doesn't make the album, but that's fine. And as I was going through it, I was thinking, you know, the part of it is if I listen to maybe it's premonitory, in the sense that she's like, have a seat while I take to the sky.
I'm going to listen to my muses. And I'm going to flow with my muses and they're going to take me where I need to go instead of listening to my father and my priest and my doctor and all of those people. They don't know. I know.
And so she's really listening to herself. And it brings up this image for me, I mean, from Buddhism. And one of the bodhisattvas enlightened beings is Manjushri. And Manjushri often holds a flaming sword, but he holds it aloft and it's tipped towards the crown of his head.
And it's a sword that's on fire because it symbolizes cutting through the obstacles of ignorance, like cutting through the masks, the roles that we put on to the truth of knowledge and to the truth of who we are. And I think that's exactly what Take to the Sky is all about. So as I was thinking about it, I'm like, oh, we've got kind of a balancing energy here, an awakening energy. Oh, we've got kind of lotus energy.
And Prabhadasana is what comes to mind for this. I mean, it's all about tapping into that energy. So Prabhadasana is a toe-balanced squat with the knees wide. So it's a little challenging, but that's okay.
Challenging is fun. So we are going to come to the floor and then you're going to come into a squat position, rising up on the balls of your feet. And you're going to bring the heels together. If you can bring the soles of the heels together to touch great, if not, that's okay too.
So the heels are touching, the soles of the feet touch to the best of their abilities, and then take the knees out wide to the sides. So your hands are probably still down. And then very slowly with focused energy and clarity, we begin to lift the hands up off of the floor. And we can bring them into prayer position at the heart for a moment.
And then at the heart, take the middle three fingers open. So we're holding lotus mudra with the hands while we hold Prabhadasana. This takes a lot of extreme focus and clarity. Like we are driven towards our goal.
Toe balances can be really challenging, but also they can be really simple and easy. And if we want to Take to the Sky, we do need to build a foundation first, but we also need to take chances. And this is a perfect chance to take. Just like Take to the Sky is a chance.
Me and a Gun was a huge chance. Some of the things that Tori did on her first three, four, five, six albums, whoa, they were big chances that she took. And look at what she did with that. So Take to the Sky says, no, it's time to go.
Have a seat. All of you haters and non-believers out there, have a seat while I take to the sky in my Prabhadasana with lotus mudra. And so with that, I thank you for joining me and Tori for a little mental yoga. Happy release week.
So exciting for all of us. Can't wait for you to hear the album if you haven't heard it yet. And remember, five minutes once a day is so much better than 60 minutes once a week. And I will see you tomorrow.
Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye.
Bye. Yes, I know what you think of me. You never shut up.
