#043: Halloween

Michael Myers breaks free and seeks to terrorize Haddonfield, Illinois again forty years later, but Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode is ready and waiting to get her vengeance in co-writer/director David Gordon Green's HALLOWEEN, a sequel to John Carpenter's 1978 horror classic. In recommendations, Mark Pfeiffer finds the appeal in Hirokazu Kore-eda's crime drama THE THIRD MURDER (SANDOME NO SATSUJIN). Paul Markoff enjoys the humor and camaraderie among three nerdy friends living in a tough neighborhood getting mixed up in things they shouldn't in Rick Famuyiwa's DOPE.
