043 - Magic Knight Rayearth
from We Watch 100 Isekai Hosted by ThermiteKitty
This episode of We Watch 100 Isekai contains spoilers for Magic Knight Rayearth / Majikku Naito Reiasu, Episode 1. 00:00 - Intro 09:05 - Episode Recap 54:00 - Rankings Zaku and Thermite follow up a great classic shonen with shoujo elements with an ever bigger classic with elements of both genres! Rayearth is a legend of 90's anime and it was a pleasure for them to watch this episode. (Fun fact: Zaku finished the whole series after this episode.) Follow our heroes into the land of Cephiro as they discuss the history of the manga, scene transitions, good chibi usage, the difference between mecha and magical girls, short jokes, school-assigned personalities, giving away killer LN ideas in exchange for podcast plugs, actually focusing on the evil high priest, a cool ethos for the world, fantastic trio dynamics, the hollowness of power vs the satisfaction of progression, and a weakness for magical girls.
