Lets face it, we don’t like not being in charge. We don’t like not having the power to call the shots. And when we don’t have the title or are not the main leader, we can tend to be passive in our leadership or way to claw for leadership. But great leaders--whether they have the official authority or not—live in the tension and learn how to be an influential presence wherever they are. They learn how to lead themselves, live with authenticity, think critically, follow courageously, and challenge up. Leadership can be (and should be) cultivated whether one has a title or not so let’s talk about it how to do that.
