Instead of proving who is right, it is much more effective to be understanding and compassionate, especially with our partners. Melvin Escobar beautifully describes the dynamics of power, privilege, internalized oppression, and cultural (in)sensitivity. Melvin has a private practice in Oakland, CA. He is also a registered yoga teacher.
