046 - But Im Too Old Now

from 1minutetips · host Rod Gomes

Welcome to 1 Minute Tips! Today I want to talk about something that used to be a recurring thought of mine, the “I’m too old now” mentality. This is one of the biggest villains when it comes to chasing your dreams. Of course there are certain things that I can’t do. I’m currently 35. And I know that it’s too late for me to become a fighter jet pilot, or an astronaut. And that’s fine. But I also know it isn’t too late to start doing a lot of other activities. Such as write a book, travel more, learn other languages, get married, the list is endless. This also applies to career changes. Did you know that the world-famous actor, Harrison Ford, used to be terrified of standing up in front of an audience? He was told that he would never make it in the acting business. He used to work as a carpenter. That’s how he met the director George Lucas, building cabinets for his home. We all know the rest of the story. You can accomplish extraordinary things in life, it doesn’t matter how old you are. All you have to do is get started! Believe in yourself, have an open mind. Keep making progress, and never forget to always have an attitude of gratitude. I'm Rod Gomes and I'll come back with another 1 minute tip soon. Take care, stay active, stay positive!
