051: A Gay Husband and a High Conflict Ex with Jessica Frew

This week I have a real treat for you on the podcast. I'm talking to Jessica Frew - second wife, ex-wife, mom, stepmom and co-host of the Husband In Law Podcast.    If you think your life is complicated, well buckle up and listen to Jessica's story.    Jessica and her ex-husband (Steve) were married for just over a year when he came to terms with the fact that he was gay. They stayed happily married for another 7 years until Steve decided that there was a side to him that he needed to explore and be authentic to.   When they divorced, they discussed how they wanted their divorce and co-parenting relationships to look for their daughter and they have been able to stick to that plan!   Jessica has been remarried for 6 years and now has two stepkids. Her husband Matt and Steve are very good friends. Infact, the three of them host The Husband In Law Podcast together! Birthdays, family dinners, holidays and vacations are all done together.   The relationship with Matt's ex-wife however is a different story. Despite their efforts to have a good, stable relationship, Jessica and Matt have learned they need to set boundaries to protect themselves and the kids.    In this episode Jessica shares her story and her mindset about life along with some really good strategies that have worked for her as she navigates this role.
