052 - Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 14:1-12)

Fear is a crippling thing and can cause one to make choices that otherwise seem out of character. In this passage, Matthew gives account of a leader whose character (or lack thereof) was revealed when his fear of man (and of his wife) drove him to terrible things. The truth is that fear of man is a trap and continues to ensnare many. Yet with fear as a trap, the promise is that faith in Christ is the key to hope and rescue.
