We’re celebrating the first day of San Diego Design Week with the second episode of our special series on inspiration and the senses. In this episode, I dive into inspiration and vision with Paul Basile, a designer, developer, fabricator, general contractor, and artist. Paul shares how he began his journey with design, what led him to create Basil Studio, and how his work has evolved over the years. We talk about the many exciting, new projects he’s taking on and how he’s incorporating different disciplines and materials. After listening to this conversation, you may find yourself inspired to learn something new and innovate!Guest Bio Designer, developer, fabricator, general contractor and artist, Paul Basile, is the multi-talented founder and principal of BASILE Studio, a prolific Southern California design firm known for its exhaustive attention to detailed craftsmanship. BASILE Studio’s perpetual drive to mix traditional design methods with expert fabrication and modern-day mechatronics (mechanical engineering + electronics), has earned them a reputation as one of the nation’s most versatile design firms. As a fourth-generation builder himself, Paul Basile started his career with a line of handcrafted furniture in the early 90s. The doors to BASILE Studio opened in San Diego in 1994, evolving into a full-service design and fabrication studio in 2008. Paul’s work has been featured in The New York Times, Inc. Magazine, Wall Street Journal, Interior Design, and more.Featured in this episodeFeatured candle: Beeswax candle from Mithras CandleFeatured brew: Chiang Rye Black Tea by Paru Tea BarFeatured Tarot deck: Moon BB Magick Tarot by Angela Mary MagickConnect with Paul and Basile StudioLinks:WebsiteInstagramAre you an interior designer or are you interested in Holistic Interior Design?
