053 - Trillia Newbell

Trillia Newbell walked away from law school as an African-American woman because she felt God calling her to ministry. That must have seemed crazy at the time, but it has borne so much good fruit. Today, Trillia is an accomplished author, speaker and blogger, who I first learned about when I was handed a copy of her INCREDIBLE book "God's Very Good Idea". I tracked her down because I had to learn where this book came from and learned she lived just a few minutes away, here in Nashville. As well as a mom and fitness guru, Trillia writes a lot about the Bible, fear, race, and parenting. She’s written a series of bible studies and currently serves as the Director of Community Outreach for the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission for the Southern Baptist Convention. Her joy is contagious and this chat was surprising and wonderful.
