054: How to use a loan strategically for your nonprofit

My guest for this episode is Vivienne Hsu. Vivienne is founder and CEO of LENDonate, a unique marketplace lending and donation platform where nonprofits and supporters leverage their collective power for the greater good.  With over 20 years of financial services experience she is considered an expert in her field. She has appeared in numerous interviews on CNBC and Bloomberg TV and is frequently quoted in national publications, including The Wall Street Journal and Kiplinger.  Prior to being a social entrepreneur, Vivienne was investment executive at U.S. Trust, Charles Schwab Investment Management and American Century Investments where she managed over $10B in equity portfolios. Rounding out her experience was financial risk modeling at MSCI Barra, and pension actuarial work on retirement plans. Vivienne has an undergraduate degree in applied mathematics and received an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. She is a CFA® charterholder.  Additionally, Vivienne is a volunteer leader in nonprofit organizations as a board member, development director and capital campaign director.  She is currently on the boards of Los Altos Community Foundation, How Women Lead, The SRI Conference, and the Haas Alumni Network Silicon Valley.
