055 - Are We Using TOO MUCH ENERGY?

What if I told you that you use too much energy?  So, for the rest of the year, you aren't allowed to use your laptop, phone, dishwasher, laundry machines, furnace, air conditioner, or your fridge. You can't turn on the lights. You have to take cold showers. You aren't allowed to put gas in your car. And also, you can't eat food.   Is energy consumption bad?? Is energy itself scarce? If so, who should get to use the energy? For what reasons? Who gets to control the energy consumption?    We all use energy to improve the quality of our lives. In many ways, increased energy consumption encourages human flourishing.    The new monetary technology, bitcoin, uses a lot of energy. This is often seen to be a flaw of bitcoin. But is it?
