055 - Montebello Artfest

from Chicano Shuffle

One year ago, we started this dog and pony show and like most things in life, it went pretty fast. We've learned quite a few thing since and have quite a few things yet to learn, but we are grateful for all the raza out there listening. Still amazed that there is raza out there listening to our pendejadas. The fact that you give us your time is incredibly chingon! Thank you. So yeah, this is our one year anniversary! A huevo! We celebrated this milestone with the raza at the Montebello Artfest. Met with chingon fans and made news ones plus interviewed some incredible guests. Chido! This week, we talk to some film icons. No joke... these guys are deeply rooted into our chicano culture and we were honored to have them stop by our booth. Our guests: Danny De La Paz (Puppet in American Me), Daniel Villarreal (Little Puppet in American Me), and Will Gotay (Pancho in Stand and Deliver). Thanks for listening and stay tuned (for year two)… ***Disclaimer: This episode was recorded live at an art festival with live music etc... at times it gets a bit noisy... cause it was recorded live on site. Thanks for understanding. Links (Not always to be taken as endorsements) Danny De La Paz Facebook Instagram Daniel Villarreal Facebook Instagram Will Gotay Twitter Instagram

WHOO'S House Podcast Podcast Playground WHOO’S HOUSE PODCAST WITH DJ WHOO KID This isn’t just a podcast. It’s Whoo’s House—and you never know who might walk through the door. Before social media could make an artist famous overnight, DJ Whoo Kid was moving music through the streets, breaking records on mixtapes, and helping turn underground momentum into worldwide movements. As a pioneering force behind the legendary G-Unit Radio mixtape series, 50 Cent’s longtime tour DJ, a core member of the G-Unit family, and the man behind Shadyville Entertainment, Whoo Kid didn’t simply witness one of hip-hop’s most explosive eras—he helped create its soundtrack. His mixtapes became events, his drops became unmistakable, and his voice became woven into the DNA of an entire generation of hip-hop. Now, the doors are open.
