058 - Charlie Peacock

Charlie Peacock is a legendary record producer, songwriter, artist, author and thought leader. He’s written hit songs for Amy Grant and dc Talk, discovered and produced Switchfoot and the Civil Wars, and won multiple Grammy awards. He and his wife Andi founded the Art House, where luminaries like Eugene Peterson or Bono would came to speak, and where I now have my studio. He is one of the most interesting and important people in the history of Christian music, and he has played a pretty important role in my life, personally, as well. He’s done everything you can think of in this business, including at one point working at a record label and dropping a little band called The Normals. (GASP!) Charlie came back to his old home recently to sit with me and talk about his start in the music business, his first encounters with Jesus, and his family’s move to Nashville. We talked a lot about his past few years, starting a new School of Music at a university and then having to walk away to deal with health issues, and all that he’s learning in this season. It was an incredible gift and honor to get to have this conversation and I know you’re going to love it.
