058 - Going To Tick Town With Christopher A. Micklos

In this episode of Weird Reads, I sit down with author and filmmaker Christopher A. Micklos to talk about his gripping new book Tick Town, a fun tale that blends classic giant monsters and small-town dread. We also explore his history with making horror movies before digging into the book’s origins and themes.Along the way, we trade thoughts on big bug horror and the pulpy paperbacks of the '70s and '80s. Plus, we talk about the creative (and creepy) implications of AI in storytelling—and whether it's a threat to today’s fiction writers.Visit Chris online: https://christophermicklos.com/Support Weird Reads:Please rate and review Weird Reads on Apple Podcasts or rate on Spotify!Become a Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/jason_whiteJoin the Patreon for ad-free episodes!Buy Me A Coffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/weirdreaderEmail me: [email protected] Jason elsewhere:Linktree: https://linktr.ee/jasonsweirdreads Join the Weird Reads book club: https://fable.co/club/jasons-weird-reads-book-club-with-jwhite-418694065870?club_type=free#booksJoin the discord: https://discord.gg/RTvcHvWuXaTwitter: @Jason_White74@WeirdReadsPodIntro music created by DudeAwesome from Freesound.[Freesound - “Scary Haunting Cinematic Style Mix Sound Effects.flac” by DudeAwesome](https://freesound.org/people/DudeAwesome/sounds/490055/
