06-24-2026 The Dave Allen Show – Tabernacle Choir Watch Party, Clendenin's Flood Recovery, and Kanawha City's Civic Apathy

Dave Allen opens with Susan Kastorf previewing a free watch party at Capitol High School for the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square's 100th anniversary concert at the Hollywood Bowl, featuring Donny Osmond. Clendenin Mayor Kay Summers and Fire Chief Jacob Clendenin then mark the 10-year anniversary of the devastating 2016 flood, recounting the eight feet of water that hit the mayor's home and the town's remarkable rebound — new schools, a new grocery store, a returning population, and a weekend celebration featuring a first-responder appreciation parade and the unveiling of a new ladder truck. The show closes with Aaron Wood of the Kanawha City Community Association, who candidly addresses the gap between online complaints about the neighborhood and the consistently low turnout at quarterly meetings with city officials, encouraging residents and business owners to attend in person.
