Barbara talks to us about coming to terms with how your life turned out, teen-age rock idols, and how to judge the quality of a mattress. She also teaches novel writing at Sarah Lawrence College. Barbara and her husband have three children as well as a lovable shih-poo, and live in Westchester County, N.Y.
