060: Ryobi's New Air Strike Nailers and an Ingenious Patio Table

from Home Repair Tutor

Woodworking projects require the right tools.   For example, if you’re installing base board molding or casings around doors/windows having a nailer can save you a ton of time.   Unfortunately you’d have to buy a gun and air compressor.   Ryobi’s new Air Strike Nailers solve that issue.   I’m not saying they’re cheap, but the convenience could be worth it.   Carrying a compressor, hose, and set of brad nailers can get tiring and a bit dangerous.   The Air Nailers are powered by an 18 Volt battery and you get the following  -18-gauge brad nailer that drives 5/8” to 2” brad nails  -16-gauge finish nailer that drives 3/4” to 2 1/2” finish nails -1 18V Lithium-ion battery and a dual chemistry charger   The only thing missing is a bag, really wish they provided one!   Check out the Home Depot for the deal I mention   http://www.homedepot.com   or this limited time link within the Home Depot site http://thd.co/1Gi72X1   The Internet # for this combo kit over on Home Depot is #205558928     Do you need a new picnic table?   Maybe you’re looking to build something that can help with entertaining, well I found this awesome project over at Remodelaholic.com    They show you how to build a patio table with built-in ice boxes   http://www.remodelaholic.com/2014/04/build-patio-table-ice-boxes/   The complete build instructions are there along with the materials and supply lists.   I’m here to say that this is one of the coolest picnic tables I’ve ever seen.   You’ve gotta check it out just to see the genius behind the construction.     Do you need to learn how to unclog your kitchen sink?   No problem, all you need is a hand auger and detective skills.   Most clogs in kitchen sinks are from the p-trap being obstructed.   Two slip nuts hold the p-trap to the sink drain and wall pipe. Turn those slip nuts counterclockwise to remove them and pull the p-trap down into a bucket. Tap the trap on the buck to remove the clog.    If this isn’t the problem you can use a hand auger to clear out the wall pipe. Feed the hand auger down into the wall pipe until you hit the clog. Lock the auger in place and spin the auger clockwise. Then pull the auger from the wall along with the clog.    I hope these tips help you unclog your kitchen sink and save the call to a plumber.   IMO the Ridgid hand auger is awesome and you should check it out   https://www.ridgid.com/us/en/drain-cleaning     If you liked today’s show subscribe to it via iTunes    https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/home-repair-tutor/id965752980   or Stitcher    http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/home-repair-tutor?refid=stpr   Our show is 5 days a week Monday thru Friday.   Each show is 8-10 minutes and will make you a better DIYer, or your money back (which is just my way of saying you’ll like the show since it’s FREE).     Sign up to the Home Repair Tutor newsletter by texting Homerepair to 33444.  You’ll get advice, tips, and learn about all our tool giveaways via the newsletter.  Don’t miss out.       Does your bathroom make you feel embarrassed, disgusted, or frustrated?   Check out Bathroom Repair Tutor   http://bathroomrepairtutor.com/   Our memberships are limited to 100 people on a monthly basis.
