Samantha McCaughren, Business Editor at Sunday Independent joined John to discuss the week in business and chat through some of the big business stories of the week.The Taste Local tour continues and speaking with John this week was Brian Seery of Seery’s Bakery in Carlow who for over 30 years have been producing high quality cakes and award-winning Christmas puddings and Ger Kirwan of Goatsbridge Trout who along with wife Mag run the successful family business which was started in 1961 by Ger’s Parents Rita and Padraic. Kathleen Holohan, Chief Executive of Carlow County Council spoke with John about “The Business Box”. Carlow County Council’s – Local Enterprise Office has partnered up KCLR to offer the County Carlow Business Community an opportunity to avail of a series of highly subsidised supports for marketing and promotions. In addition, participating businesses will also be in with a chance to win The Business Box Bonus, a €4,000 advertising package from KCLR!  The Business Box is a series of PR & Marketing support programmes designed for the County Carlow SME Community to support the promotion and marketing of their business.   Brian O’Farrell joined John to chat about the County Carlow Retail Seminar which will be taking place on Wednesday 7th October.
